Whatever your political views, yesterday was a historic day for this country of ours. I wonder how I will explain that significance to our little girl child?Forget it, she won't get it. Just like Coleman and I didn't get how big a deal the civil rights and space movements of the '60s were. How could we? By the time we were old enough to understand - they were well on their way. By the time she is old enough to get it, I hope she looks at me like I'm crazy when I say that there was a time before we had a minority President (maybe we will have a female president before she can vote!). Just like I couldn't imagine that there was a time before women could vote!
Again, regardless of you views, we need LOTS of HOPE in this country. 2 wars, crazy economy, etc., etc. - we can all hope that things get better (and do everything we can to help that happen!).
