Grandmother and Granddaddy came over for a much too brief visit before Trick or Treating. A wonderful tradition!


Before going to join another group of friends for the festivities, we trekked over to Emma Frances and Lily's house for some yummies.

When crossing the street, you should always have a buddy!

We had a great time, and finished off this fun-filled day with movies in the moonlight at the Lingenfelter's house. She LOVED sitting in the sleeping bags on the lawn, enjoying popcorn and movies with her friends. Come to think of it, Mom enjoyed hanging out with her friends too!

5 Questions

One of the sweetest parts of my day, is when I hear Campbell call from her bed...
"Daddy, I have 5 questions for you."

Coleman started this months ago. After she has been tucked in, she has said her prayers, we've read her books, and I have given her a kiss - he asks her what questions she has for him. Let me tell you - you never know what you are going to get. Many times, it involves whatever she is looking at in that moment. It is so cool to hear how inquisitive that little brain can be. Below are her questions from last night.

(1) How does hair come out of your head?

(2) What is a scalp?

(3) How does the umbrella get open over your head?

(4) How do Popsicles get way down to your tummy?

(5) How do Ibbies stay warm?

It just warms my heart.

Sharpie Roundup

I do have a certain obsession with Sharpie. As you can see, it has gotten out of hand. That wouldn't be a big deal, except, I have a 3 year old. Recently, after giving her permission to draw on herself (as long as she didn't put the brushes in her mouth), I had to rethink their cohabitation of our home. You see, she thought it would be super-fun to draw with these guys on her oh-so-fair skin.

Everyone says so, but, it cannot be stated enough.
WHOMEVER INVENTED WASHABLE MARKERS/CRAYONS/PAINT/ETC. DESERVES A HUGE PRIZE!

p.s. The Sharpies haven't left, but they now reside in a Ziploc bag on a very high shelf!

Whew! What a Great...

AND Tiring Day! We started off at...

Hollis Hand's Fall Festival.

This is our second year attending. And, just like last year - she wanted to head straight to the 'bouncies'. Every time she is on one, she reminds us that her next birthday party will be at a 'bouncy place.' Really?


Also, like last year, she thinks she wants to ride the train - and changes her mind. Here are a few friends that we ran into while we were there.


Next stop, Chili Cookoff.

As you may notice, the girls weren't AT ALL interested in Chili. The local merchants were passing out goodies to those in costume. Of course, the fountain had the usual lure. Next stop...

Your Cheat'n Heart

There is always the urge to cheat in innocent little games like 'Snap Apple'. Yesterday, at a little Halloween Party - she grabbed that urge in her right hand!

Banished

I thought it was a phase. But, apparently, this sweet faced little bear is a BIG trouble-maker. He has been BANISHED from Campbell's bed for about a month. The first I heard of it, he wasn't giving her any room. THEN, he started bullying Pooh, and those gentle lambs (Lamby and Lamby). What's next, will he pick on the duck too?

SO, no more Blanco sleeping on the bed.

What's the Word?

THUNDERBIRD!
Coleman has seen the Blue Angels, but, couldn't pass up the opportunity to also see the USAF Thunderbirds as we passed back through Atlanta. I have to admit that I thought it would be alright, but could have gone either way. BUT, when I saw them (HEARD them, FELT them), they were pretty amazing! I was so glad that I got to enjoy the day with my sweet Hubby (enjoying something he wanted to do!).

The BIG Day!

They were just lovely after the ceremony.

HOWEVER, the big news of the reception was THE DANCE! These two crazy kids did one of those 'You-Tube' worthy events. I do hope that they will share a copy, as no one can understand how 'out there' it was. Great job guys!

Rehearsal Reunion

We enjoyed spending time with old friends this weekend to celebrate Kevin and Emily's wedding. Friday night started off with some great stories and amazing food at the rehearsal dinner. Here we are with Emily, Kevin, Bob and Becca.

It took a while - but, I found some yesterday, on the way home. She was very interested in how it might go from these tight little bolls to a cute little dress.

Uncle Time

She had a great time hanging out with her Uncle Matthew.

Where I Come From...

I enjoy seeing all the sites around my home town (and surrounding areas). As my family didn't 'farm', I never really appreciated the millet, soy beans, cotton, cows, etc., etc. around the area. It is only NOW, that I want to show my daughter where her clothes are grown, and NOW that I wonder more and more where and how our food is grown that I am searching for the connection.
When I was younger, there was cotton everywhere - I do remember that. It was nearly impossible to find any on this trip.

WAR EAGLE ANYWAY!

Ok, even though Auburn can't seem to get ANYTHING together, we can still cheer for them!

Grandpa Stories

Grandpa and Grammie came to town for the Auburn game tomorrow. Campbell got to enjoy 'Fancy Nancy' bedtime stories from Grandpa.

More Catch Up!

Well, I have FINALLY caught up from the middle of September until now. I hope you enjoy, if you like to go back in review. I got so behind, that lots of things have been left off. Not that you were counting, but, I have left off LOTS of birthdays and anniversaries. I'm just not up for putting them all back in for August and September. That is LOTS of days! If I didn't see you that day - then, it probably won't make it. I know, you are heartbroken!

Go Big Blue!

In case I haven't mentioned it, I do love our little school!
Miss Theresa and Miss Betty are pretty great too!

Just Chillin' with my Uncle Thad...

Thad and Campbell were so stressed out while I was packing up to go home today (yeah, right!). They, or SHE, was enjoying some serious video, I'm sure.

Baby on the Way!

We traveled over to the Lake Oconee area for a baby shower for my baby sister. She is expecting her first at Christmas, and we can't wait!

Thank Goodness for Mom!

This week, while catering for Rosh Hashanah, my Mom came to (1) help with Campbell, and (2) help with food. She makes the best potato salad, deviled eggs, tuna salad, etc., etc., etc.,

Mostly, I couldn't do it without her! She even filled in at the event one day when my regular person was out for a serious personal reason. ALSO, Coleman filled in that day with our sweet girl.

Campbell loves being with her Grandparents, and she should get the opportunity to see them all this month!
