My work. I enjoy working on fun cakes. The client asked for a simple cake. I was in the mood for a little more. (no charge - what was I thinking?) It was a nice change from the usual cake. They loved it!

Grammie Saves the Day

Grammie helped me out in a HUGE way by coming to town for a couple of days to watch Little Miss Auburn. I was very busy with catering/baking all week. It was a major sacrifice for these two to play together for two days! Thanks Grammie!

She will enjoy going to the games this fall in her Auburn attire and the new Auburn Crocs!

'Our' Bunny?

This little bunny lives in one of the front beds on our house. Thus far, it has eluded photos (and almost did today). It will 'freeze' 10 feet away from us when we don't have a camera - for several minutes at a clip. We will keep you posted - maybe even bring it in when he is 'ready for his close-up'.

Mr. Eric

Laundry and Tents

Today, we stayed around the house. But, that doesn't mean we didn't have fun! She helped with the laundry (while having a few giggles), and later - we played in the huge 'tent' that Mom made. Ribbit, Brown Bear and Lily had a good time too!

Up, Up and Away!

Our little one got to hang out with our friend, Jimmy Waggoner, as he got ready to go flying yesterday. She will be flying for the first time next month, and since she is fascinated with airplanes - we thought we should let her hang out with someone that actually knows everything about them - inside and out! Thanks Jimmy!

Hairspray!

We had a blast downtown yesterday watching all the CRAZY people celebrate 'Hairspray' - the movie. One of the actors - Elijah Kelley, is from our hometown. So, the city had a big hoo-ha with music, dancing, and the handing out of 'city keys' down by the movie theater. One of the crazies just happened to be our friend, Bill Black.

Tomatoes Gone Wild

Louise, our neighbor, and I spent some time this morning tying up the tomatoes, and letting them grow up and over the wall to her side. Canned organic tomatoes all winter? We can only hope!

Arghhhh! Shiver Me Timbers

Love this fun cake - but, it wore me out. I used a little more engineer skill than pastry skill!

I Have Two

When she was told that she was playing with Max after her nap, she referred to "Where the Wild Things Are" in her memory, and grabbed 'Max' out of the toy chest....Luckily, the real Max was a little more interactive!

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Only too happy to enjoy some of Ken's homemade chocolate Butterfinger ice cream. We also enjoyed our fresh South Carolina peach, Carla's chocolate marshmallow and Jim's Ranier cherry ice cream. Thanks for having us over Jim! It was delicious!

Ferry Friends - Coughy Crop

While driving 80mph (I'm sure that is the speed limit for 2 lane back roads in North Carolina) - I snapped a few shots of tobacco growing along the route.

Home Away from Home

We went camping for her first time at Carolina Beach State Park. She 'helped' put up the tent. Great park in a great location - just REALLY hot in July. Go figure!

Woe is She

While we were in Raleigh, our Miss Priss developed a fever of 103. We stopped by the Urgent Care Center - just so that the Doctor could tell us it was fine - no need for quarantine - except from newborns. Maybe a virus - oh well. yada yada yada... That will be $135.

This is 'staged' the next morning. Can you fake a fever? I think she was ready to go to the beach!

Really Cool Family

We were on our way to visit some friends in Raleigh, and wouldn't you know - Elizabeth went in to labor. This really cool family (Elizabeth, Chad and Will) welcomed Baby Patrick to the family on Wednesday. It was great to see you guys! (he is 2 hours old - doesn't Mom look great!)

Tiny Little Toes

Happy 8th Anniversary!

We went out on the town to celebrate our 8th Anniversary. Kevin snapped this shot as we were leaving.

Earlier in the day, the whole family went out for some fun. We saw Seussical the Musical and went to Discovery Place. Here is our little Tornado dancing with one created in the Center. We had a great time.

First Stop on the Trip - Charlotte

We had a great time visiting with Kevin and Emily in Charlotte!

Our first night - we ate the BIGGEST PIZZA I've ever seen!

This was a regular 'large' from the local pizzeria - Yum!

When we pulled into the driveway at Kevin's house - there was a major electrical storm happening. I was on the phone with Leslie, and BOOM it struck and my phone died. We noticed the next morning that it struck the house 40 feet behind us. You can see the blue tarp on their roof, and our car in the foreground. WE were fortunate that it didn't hit us. THEY were very fortunate that the lightning didn't hurt them - but only ruined every single item in their home (air, computer, etc.) Of course, I use 'only' very lightly.

I am SO HAPPY to report that my computer issue wasn't the hard drive. It was the motherboard. After 2 months of speculation, we actually took the computer to the experts. Here is a photo of Miss Priss from March - so happy to have it!

Kitty treated all the kids with Little Debbie snacks after the parade. I think our girl enjoyed every bit!

4th on the Farm

Our little Sweetie had a great time with some of her 2nd and 3rd cousins: Nathan, Hannah, Lily, Nick, Jodi, Amanda, Deb, and David on the Farm celebrating, and eating lots of yummy watermelon!
Granddaddy and Grandmommy hosted the whole family - we missed everyone that couldn't be there. See you next year!

Ok, it isn't such a surprise that a little girl might enjoy a perfect chocolate cupcake at Jack's birthday party. What might be a little more interesting is that she carried this SAME cupcake around for at least 30 minutes. The first photo was taken several minutes after First Contact....
