We enjoyed a wonderful day with friends at the Riverwalk (yes, we just went 2 days ago!). Here, "Sweetness" and 'La-La' sport their matching helmets (safety first!).

Dance of the 7 Napkins

She has started playing with all the cloth napkins she can get her hands on. She likes to pretend whomever she can get to be still for 2 seconds is napping and cover them up. We turned the tables on her in this shot!

Picnic in the Park

We went bike riding at the Riverwalk on Saturday morning. While pausing for lunch, we watched other bikers enjoy the day. It was really nice to get out.

Happy BIrthday Chloe!

We went to the Georgia Aquarium with some good friends to celebrate Chloe's 3rd birthday (she is the pretty little girl in the middle with the pink/yellow/dark pink shirt). It was lots of fun seeing all the fish, otters and penguins.

Happy 5th Ethan!

This is our nephew - he is growing like crazy, and is all boy (we wouldn't want him any other way!) We can't wait to see him and his Mom next month! We will all have a blast at the beach!

Good Food

Let's see....PURCHASED Organic Chicken Broth ~$3. One and a half days and 6 whole organic roasted chickens later, the equivalent of 11 boxes of homemade organic chicken broth and lots of meat for dinners. Good food for the family! Broth makes everything taste better. I am trying to go the no processing route. No purchased, processed food - I'm processing plenty!

Today I am starting the dough to make frozen pizzas. What are your favorite toppings?

Ok, considering that this is terribly exposed - why show it? She is too happy not to show the photo! We are at music class (one of her all time favorite activities) and she is running around the circle squealing with her tongue hanging out. Had to do it!

Mother's Day at the Zoo

I'm going to the zoo! (Angelbaby's first time) We went to the zoo in Birmingham with Grandmommy and Granddaddy, Uncle Phil, Aunt Kim, and Cousins Phillip and Anderson. We had a great time!

Ok, I just wish we had SOME kind of showers (especially the RAIN kind!). This cake is for a client having a baby shower for a baby boy.

They Say It's My Birthday!

The 'after' party at home. We got together with friends (8 of which were under 5) and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. It was great to see everyone - Sweetness had a major melt down! Too much party for a 20 month old. Speaking of melting down.....

Daddy and Sweetness got me some amazing (yes, amazing) Viking pots/pans. Does this mean I need to cook more often?

No Need for Bottled Water!

Chapman Hollow, to be exact. This hay rake caught my eye among the yellow bitter weed in the field. I guess it is easier to find these types of things pretty if you have never had to really 'work' with them.

Pretty Poison

I love this barn. It is close to my Mom's house in Elkmont. Just when I was going to take a photo of it last fall, I thought the owners had cut back all of the ivy. Upon closer inspection (and the wise words of Sue).....that's not just ivy - that is poison ivy - keep your distance! Whatever it is, it is really pretty to me on the old barn.

At Least it Didn't Happen on MY Watch!

Well, what can I say, THINGS HAPPEN! While we were on our way around the pool at the country club (on our way to celebrate Sydney's 3rd birthday), Sweetness had an unfortunate meeting with the concrete. Ok, she cried a good bit - but, as you can tell, when standing that pretty dress covers those lovely knees. I was carrying the birthday girl's cake, and I there was no convenient place to put down the cake. SOOOOOOOO, Marvin picks up Sweetness, and a kind stranger picks up the gift. Fast forward 2 hours. Daddy is playing with Sweetness in the 'bouncy castle' and notices her knees. What does he say about the battle scars? See the title!

I'm SOOOO Thirsty!

It all started with a flat of snapdragons and a simple dream of sharing some 'dirt under your nails' with my daughter. Amazing that once the water hose is out, nothing else matters! She was soaked from head to toe, and we had a blast! After all, nothing else matters!

Ring Around the Rosies

We went with some friends to the square for a picnic. (after a nice walk in the new jog stroller) The girls enjoyed playing outside together.

Just one more minute Mama? (I think we have trouble on our hands - water baby?) Sweetness enjoys a dip in the fountain on the square.

Wednesdays Mean Story Time

Daddy takes 30 minutes out of his very busy schedule most Wednesdays to take "Sweetness" to Story Time at the Public Library. She LOVES hanging out with Daddy and the other children. Of course, books are one of her very favorite things. Mrs. Pat is taking a much needed vacation for the month of May, so Daddy is reading today.

My favorite flowers are starting to appear, if only for a week. They smell so sweet. This sample is in the front yard of our home.
