Day at the Farm

Possibly, my favorite event at our Church. We got there early to help set up the covered-dish tables. There was SO much to do.

Ann and Campbell entertained themselves for a while, while their Moms helped get everything ready.

Of course, Daddy joined in on the festivities!

There were hay rides (through the Haunted Barn) ...

Horseshoes (and target practice with pellets) - I didn't do a shabby job, if I do say so myself!

I believe there is a written law about face-painting being a 'requirement'!


We had about 350 people there. Another 'written law' at the Presbyterian Church states that...
"If thou gatherest one plus any others in the presence of God and everybody, you MUST serve food." And, we did!

Frances and Betty are also on the awesome Social Committee, and we helped get drinks and chicken and to organize the essentials for the covered dish and pie contest.

Dr. DeCelle is part of a mountain dulcimer group that performed in addition to a hammer dulcimer group from Florida, Sweet Prospect.

First Presbyterian Law #3...
"Thou shalt always have the good graces to invite Mama Jama! "
(and the privilege of hearing those stories!)

You can just guess from her face that she had a great time, played with the Frisbee and side-walk chalk, etc. , etc., etc.

For the end of the day, it was so nice to see all of these sweet little ones still having a great time. LOVE this shot of Andy.

Discoveries Picnic

We had a great time with our Sunday School class out at Highland Park. As you might notice, there are lots of kids. Also, there was lots of fun, food and fellowship - in a beautifully casual setting.

Hey There Campers!

Well, it is that time of year again. Time for the time-honored tradition of Camp Viola!

These three are a FORCE to be reckoned with! Wendy, Coleman and Lori handle this LIKE IT'S THEIR JOB! Well, I guess, for the week, it is. Anyway, they have two years under their belts, and the kids are better for it!

We are in the midst of Vacation Bible School season! Campbell had a GREAT time at Dunson Methodist last week. So, this week, we had VBS at our Church.

There were quite a few kids!

Of course, there was lots of singing.

If you asked her this week, I think she would choose VBS over school!

I Will Make You Fishers of Men

For the summer, our Church takes everything out of the box. We celebrate "Vacation in God's Creation". Each week we have a different lesson and a fun activity to complement that lesson. This week, our topic was "Fishers of Men".

While we stopped on the water to read the lesson, this 'little' guy flew by. If you don't think God and Church can be anywhere - think again!

The Kids in the Church

Ms. Deb snapped this pic during what Campbell calls 'Little Church'. (Big Church being held on Sundays). This is her favorite day at Church. What's not to love, she gets to eat dinner with friends and then go play, sing songs and go to the playground. I love Wednesday nights, and these sweet little kids.

It Was A Cold, Cold Day!

Today was our Church Easter Egg Hunt. We woke up to a really cold, wet day. So, on go the jackets and tights. So much for cute little Easter dresses!



We had less of a crowd than usual - probably due to those issues. However, there was a great time to be had by all. Campbell found the prize egg - she was very excited about that. This is her last year in the '3 and under' category. I'm guessing that the '4-5-6' group will be a little tougher next year!

p.s. I love that Doug, our Pastor, has on Bunny Ears!

Wild Animal Safari

We tagged along for the group trip to the Wild Animal Safari. The bus was a little crazy for her, so we went with the walking tour. It was nice to have some Daddy time.

Meanwhile, Back at Camp...

Well, I've lost my hubby for the week to Lorri. Luckily, it is for a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. These two brave souls are co-chairing Camp Viola this week. She is there all day, and he arrives at 5pm and stays until 8 or 9 in the morning. ARGHH!

He has worked on this several years in different capacities - and loves it, even when things don't go perfectly. These kids make it all worth it!

We will catch back up with him when we can for breakfast and lunch - and then join for some fun on Tuesday at the Wild Animal Safari. See you then!

Graduation

This week was graduation Sunday for all of the Children's Sunday School classes.

Boo, along with some of her friends - is moving up to the 3 & 4 year old class.
AND, after 2 years of trying to get her to keep her bow in her hair...
she decided that today was the day it would stick.
She would have none of that putting on the graduation hat!

How we managed to not get all 4 that were present in one photo - I do not know!
