Happy Bath?

During her bath tonight - Grammie and I decided to take some photos (I know - surprise). As I was looking over all these photos - I thought about something. What would I think if someone started snapping photos while I was taking a bath? I know that there are many from my childhood, starting with the 'first bath' photos. However, I can't IMAGINE what I would think if it happened now.

Good thing we don't remember everything from our childhood. That is, until we whip out those baby books to show those suitors! Is that payback for whatever we parents will endure over the course of their adolescent years?

We shall see!

A Trip 'Up North'

For 'Spring Break' from Montessori - we decided to take an extended trip to visit Grammie and Grandpa. Needless to say - she enjoyed getting up there to 'play'.

All those hugs and kisses didn't hurt!

Men in Back

For the last 5 years - we have raked and raked and raked in our 'natural' area out back. It is AMAZING to us the number of things we continue to find - after all of these years.

We worked really hard before our Little One's first birthday party - knowing that little hands and feet would be rummaging through the sticks and plants. Again, for the second birthday party - we scoured the area for anything dangerous. OK, you may think we are crazy - but, we have found hammers, metal sprinklers, metal spikes, BALLS galore, and dog toys. It is just crazy that there was that much stuff left here, and that it wasn't visible to the naked eye.

Anyway, here is our latest find - pretty good condition - comparatively!

Azaleas for Hydrangeas

Our Garden Club met at our house tonight. It was so nice to see everyone - AND to have an excuse to 'gussy' up the house. The Azaleas were in agreement - and were placed anywhere that had a spot. Take away everything you might think about the traditional 'club'. I have to say, our garden club is such a relaxed group of women. I always look forward to the yummy food, education, and conversation.

Can't wait until next month!

I Met an Angel

She is such a sweet girl.

While on our Way to the Children's Symphony...

So, we had BIG PLANS for a lovely cultural event this evening. We were going to the grocery store (surprise) to finish a couple of things of dinner tonight. When this cute little girl reminded (as we passed) that HER DADDY had promised her that we would go the fair (which is leaving town tomorrow). After a quick confirmation call to Daddy - we had a change in 'cultural' planning.

SO - after walking through the entire place, winning a blue bear (Blueberry - see photo), Daddy demonstrating the joys of sliding quickly down a bumpy slide on a piece of felt and making it back to the front of the exhibits - we strongly encouraged her to ride Captain Hook's flying ship. You can see what that did for her.


Later that evening, on the same ride - we had a breakthrough moment!

(Egg) Shell Games

So, we started the day off with the usual Easter morning antics. She discovered the basket of goodies the Easter Bunny left after he consumed the goodies we left out for him. My Hubby was a little shocked at the number of edible items the Bunny left. That Bunny must have kept seeing this treat or that, that made him think...'OH, she MUST want that too - it is essential!' Out of all that 'haul' she loved the RING POP the most. (thank you Streeton family for letting us in on the value of Ring Pop leverage!) She also enjoyed playing shell games with some mini Reese's peanut butter cups.


Granddaddy and Grandmother joined us for Church and lunch. Here, we posed for the traditional Easter photo in front of the decorated Cross.


After naps on Easter means a trip to the Kornek's home for later lunch and the final egg hunt of the season. The kids were only TOO happy to Hop on Down the Bunny Trail to find their prize.

So, on the way home yesterday - we met another famous someone...

Unlike her previous encounters with suited Holiday figures - she ran right to him and gave him a big hug. Go figure?

Here Come da Judge...

We traveled to the State Capital today to see my 'little' brother be sworn in as a State Judge.

May I present, The Honorable Trent Brown.
His acceptance speech was, of course, perfect. We are so happy for him.

Jill is pretty proud of her husband - can't you see it?

Howard, Dad and Brenda were also pretty proud (along with Jill's parents, Leslie and Thad, us, and several others).

Swing, Scrub, Sing

Today was the Easter Egg Hunt at Montessori. Well, I was 2 minutes late (surprise!), and missed the entire thing! However, I did get to hang around for 45 minutes and see what things she loves to do...

SCRUB? I don't think that I knew she loved this so much. Wait a minute - it involves water - she's in!


And, of course, SING! Here she is with Ms. Pat, her wonderful teacher (and the Montessori director). We just love her!
