We recently purchased an old favorite in new packaging. Our little one loves playing with Mommy and Daddy.

(Egg) Shell Games

So, we started the day off with the usual Easter morning antics. She discovered the basket of goodies the Easter Bunny left after he consumed the goodies we left out for him. My Hubby was a little shocked at the number of edible items the Bunny left. That Bunny must have kept seeing this treat or that, that made him think...'OH, she MUST want that too - it is essential!' Out of all that 'haul' she loved the RING POP the most. (thank you Streeton family for letting us in on the value of Ring Pop leverage!) She also enjoyed playing shell games with some mini Reese's peanut butter cups.


Granddaddy and Grandmother joined us for Church and lunch. Here, we posed for the traditional Easter photo in front of the decorated Cross.


After naps on Easter means a trip to the Kornek's home for later lunch and the final egg hunt of the season. The kids were only TOO happy to Hop on Down the Bunny Trail to find their prize.

Unlike her previous encounters with suited Holiday figures - she ran right to him and gave him a big hug. Go figure?

Here Come da Judge...

We traveled to the State Capital today to see my 'little' brother be sworn in as a State Judge.

May I present, The Honorable Trent Brown.
His acceptance speech was, of course, perfect. We are so happy for him.

Jill is pretty proud of her husband - can't you see it?

Howard, Dad and Brenda were also pretty proud (along with Jill's parents, Leslie and Thad, us, and several others).

Swing, Scrub, Sing

Today was the Easter Egg Hunt at Montessori. Well, I was 2 minutes late (surprise!), and missed the entire thing! However, I did get to hang around for 45 minutes and see what things she loves to do...

SCRUB? I don't think that I knew she loved this so much. Wait a minute - it involves water - she's in!


And, of course, SING! Here she is with Ms. Pat, her wonderful teacher (and the Montessori director). We just love her!

In case you don't follow this family, or blog...she LOVES water too. We couldn't pass up the double blessing of rain (1) we can use it and (2) it makes puddles!

If you can't guess, it was a little cold (before you give out the 'unfit' mother award - we didn't stay outside too long!)

Leaping Leprechauns!...

Well, our friend, Miss Fiona (who is more Irish than we), told us that IF we leave mushrooms for the Leprechauns - they will leave us GOLD! This is the scene as she got up this morning. We decided that it might creep her out if he came in her room!

She left her boots on the steps, in a tidy 'side-by-side' arrangement. Apparently, the leprechauns knocked them over - and left green confetti everywhere (AND in the shoes).

These sweet little Irish (well - at least a big portion) eyes weren't having that. She promptly picked them up and dumped them out.

We'll see how she feels about the Easter Bunny later this week!

Church Easter Egg Hunt

This is our first year at our Church for Easter. It was a great egg hunt at the Hutchinson's home. All the kids were so polite (at least in our little '3 and under' area). Joel even gave our Sweet Girl an egg that they both were eyeing (after she whined a little). He is such a sweet boy.

Daddy had to do some explaining before we tried out the trampoline. All the kids were jumping (to work off that sugar high?), and she said, "I might like to try that".

Well, as it turned out, she takes after Mommy and Daddy, and it isn't her favorite. But, she did give it a try!

Let the Egg Hunting Begin!

Kitty and Gavin had some people over for their 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It is, sadly, about the only time our entire neighborhood gets together - well, those with kids anyway. There were tons of kids, and our little hunter had fun playing with Emma Frances and some other friends.

I guess this is the official start of Egg Hunting Season!

Mommy, This is SO Not Hot...

SO, I am baking some cakes for clients today - as I do on occasion. Miss Priss can't be a part of 'client' baking - and she 'bakes' in her own kitchen while I cook. However, when cakes come out of the oven, they have to be leveled. My household vultures can detect a cake leveling from ANYWHERE in the house. She comes over, immediately, and asks to sample the goods. I explain that 325 degrees is pretty hot, and doesn't she notice all the steam coming out of the cake. "You will have to wait until it has cooled Sweetie." I go about my business preparing boards or something.

From the other room, I hear the above. (as she reaches for a sample)

Only Six Weeks to Go!

My Sister, Leslie, and I (along with 3 other friends) hosted a shower for our sister-in-law, Jill. She only has 6 weeks until her 'due-date'.
